meeting of the Oswego Town Board was held on May 10, 2004 at the Oswego
Town Hall. Supervisor Mullen called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM with
the Pledge of Allegiance. Roll call was taken with the following members
Supervisor's Report: I have met with bankers, and the USDA about different ways to fund the building for a new town hall. I have also met with several firms about how to proceed. Three huge trees that had become a threat in the Oswego Town Rural Cemetery have been taken down. I wish to thank Assemblyman Bob Oaks for his assistance in getting us a grant for this project. We have received our first FEMA payment in the amount of $2,145.96. We are expecting a second check to arrive and estimate that amount to be in the area of $10,000.00. The town was treated again to the best chicken in the county, maybe even the state at the recent firefighter’s chicken barbecue. If you have never had their chicken I suggest you get out to the next one in the fall and be sure to get there early as they sell out quickly. Also, the town board was recently invited to the 20th anniversary of the Oswego Town Fire Department. How impressive it was to see our entire department out in full dress uniform and for a happy occasion. We are truly blessed here in the Town of Oswego with a very active dedicated fire service. So many towns are looking for incentives and ways to have people volunteer in the fire service and I was pleased to know we are fully staffed. If you should run into one of our firefighters please say hello and thank them for their service. Grievance day is May 25th.
Public Comment: Question was asked about the unpaid taxes given to the County Treasurer.
